How to Care for Your Pieces
At thefindedit, every piece is chosen with intention. To keep your clothing and jewellery looking their best, follow the care guidance below.
Clothing Care
Washing
Most of our clothing pieces are made from polyester or polyester-blend fabrics. We recommend:
- Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle
- For delicate pieces with lace, embroidery, or sequins — hand wash in cool water
- Turn garments inside out before washing to protect surface details
- Do not bleach
- Wash dark colours separately
Drying
- Tumble dry on low heat, or lay flat to dry to preserve shape
- Avoid wringing or twisting delicate fabrics
- Keep away from direct sunlight when drying to prevent colour fading
Ironing
- Iron on low to medium heat
- For sequined, embroidered, or lace pieces — iron inside out, or place a thin cloth between the iron and the fabric
- Do not iron directly on sequins, beading, or lace
- Steam is a gentler alternative for removing creases
Storage
- Store folded or hung in a cool, dry place
- Use padded hangers for structured pieces to maintain shape
- Keep knitwear folded rather than hung to avoid stretching
- Store sequined or embellished pieces separately to avoid snagging
Jewellery Care
Avoid Moisture
- Remove jewellery before swimming, showering, or exercising
- Avoid contact with perfume, hairspray, and lotions — apply these before putting on your jewellery
- Pat dry immediately if jewellery comes into contact with water
Cleaning
- Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after each wear
- For pieces with stones or shells, avoid submerging in water
- Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cloths
Storage
- Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight
- Keep pieces in individual pouches or a jewellery box to avoid scratching
- Store chains flat or hanging to prevent tangling
- Keep different metals stored separately to avoid tarnishing
